All-rounder Sam Curran who starred for Punjab with 4 for 11 against Delhi , which included a hat-trick said after the match that he didn't realize he had achieved the feat. Delhi, despite needing 23 from 21 balls with seven wickets in hand, crumbled to s shocking defeat.

"I didn't really know (about hat-trick). The crowd was so loud, I couldn't hear my own thoughts. Ash told me to do what I do. Against the local batsmen, who I didn't know where they hit, I had to ask the other guys. So that can get tricky. But Shami got two amazing overs in the end which helped, and Ashwin's run-out," Curran was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo after the match.

Earlier, Curran also made a quick 20 from 10 balls, opening the innings in place of the unfit Chris Gayle. "I just came out here trying to impress. Luckily we managed to scratch a score above 150 and the bowlers were superb. I have opened in school cricket but this is probably the first time in senior cricket," he admitted.

Delhi captain Shreyas Iyer was shocked after his side's batting crumbled for the second game in a row, this time losing seven wickets for eight runs. In the previous match, they were saved by the Super Over, but not this time.

"Really disappointing. The way we were going on and the way we came ball to ball and losing from there, it's really disappointing. We didn't play smart cricket," a deflated Iyer said.
