ICC ODI rankings: Kohli, Rohit retain top two slots

India's captain and vice-captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have retained the top two spots in the ICC ODI ranking for batsmen. Kohli is at the top position with 871 points followed by Rohit with 855. Pakistan's Babar Azam is at the number three spot with 829 points.

In the bowlers list, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is at the number two spot with 719 points. New Zealand left-arm seamer Trent Boult occupies the top spot in the bowling rankings.

Following the England-Ireland ODI series, a number of players from the two teams moved up places. Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie improved four positions to 42nd spot following his 113-run knock against England in the Southampton ODI. Paul Stirling, who smashed 142 in the same game, moved up one slot to 26th.

Newcomer Curtis Campher's twin half-centuries give him an entry at number 191 in the batting list. Looking at the bowling numbers, Ireland fast bowler Craig Young's six wickets lifted him 40 places to 89th in the rankings. Further, Mark Adair reached up to 138 and Joshua Little to 146.

Looking at England, their skipper Eoin Morgan, who smashed a hundred in the third ODI against Ireland, moved up one place to 22nd and Jonny Bairstow to 13th. Sam Billings, who scored 132 runs in the series, has re-entered the rankings at 146th position.

Among England bowlers, leg-spinner Adil Rashid picked up five wickets and moved up from 29th to 25th spot. Left-arm pacer David Willey's eight wickets, which included 5 for 30 in the first game, saw him move six places to number 51. He was also the man of the series.

England’s series win over Ireland got them 20 points in the ICC men’s World Cup Super League.
