BCCI has nominated Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur for the Arjuna Award, according to a report in PTI.

Harmanpreet became a household name for her performance in the Women's World Cup, specifically the spectacular 171 in the semis against Australia.

Harmanpreet starred in India's T20 series victory in Australia last year, and was a top performer in India's Women's Asia Cup triumph. Harmanpreet is also the first India women's cricketer to be signed for the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), where she played for Sydney Thunders

Pujara, on the other hand, scored over 1300 runs in India's home season, which featured 13 Tests. On Thursday, Pujara also crossed 4000 runs, playing in his 50th Test.

"We have sent Cheteshwar and Harmanpreet's name for the Arjuna award. The names have been forwarded to the Ministry of Sports. Both have been exceptional performers during last season and were unanimous choice from our end,” a senior office-bearer told PTI.
