Wasim Jaffer has resigned as Mumbai Captain after his team failed to clinch the Ranji Trophy Championship for a second year in a row in his stint.

Wasim Jaffer has resigned as Mumbai Captain after his team failed to clinch the Ranji Trophy Championship for a second year in a row in his stint. The Indian Test discard Wasim Jaffer had led Mumbai to the Ranji Trhophy Championship title in 2008/09 and 2009/10. Jaffer who had a modest season with the bat this year has decided to focus only on his batting in the coming days.

Wasim JafferThe 33-year-old Wasim Jaffer has played 31 Tests for India scoring 5 100s and 11 50s and is considered to be the best opener in Indian Cricket amongst the present lot. Jaffer has the reputation of scoring big centuries and his highest first class score is 314 not out. In Test matches, Wasim Jaffer’s highest score is 212 which came against West Indies in 2006.
