David Warner, who blasted a scintillating 69 from 39 balls for Hyderabad against Rajasthanhas now become the leading run-scorer of ICL 12, and the current Orange cap holder.
Warner had slammed a 53-ball 85 in the losing cause against Kolkata, his first ICL game after the ball-tampering scandal.
With 154 runs, he has overtaken Sanju Samson as the Orange cap holder. Following his 102 for Rajasthan earlier in the same match, Samson was briefly the leading run scorer.
"One thing that inspires me is the local fans, they are amazing. We try and put on a good show," Warner was quoted as saying in an India Today report after receiving the Orange cap.
Warner was also pleased with the opening partnership he has forged with Jonny Bairstow. The two put on a 100-run stand in quick time to set up the chase on Friday.
"I and Jonny have partnered really well since Kolkata. There have been a few hiccups with him trying to get off the mark, I have been hogging the strike a little bit, but over the years I have been held back a little bit. We know this ground pretty well," Warner added.
Earlier in the game, Sanju Samson (102 not out) and Ajinkya Rahane (70) dominated the Hyderabad innings. Rashid Khan was named the man of the match for his all-round effort.
